I have been in Bangalore for around 5 years. Though i don't and won't claim that i know enough of it here. But igate is one such company i came across with almost 0 credibility of what they say and do. I am lucky enough not to be a part of that till now. 5 years back i used to see the igate buses honking around with the board of "no 2 employer" etc etc. I used to feel good of the kind of proud feeling they must be having , but slowly after getting to know the experiences of few very closed ones i realized that those buses are one of their modes of truly false communication they need to do.
One of my friend was offered an excellent position and some truly great role that would have taken his heights to a different level. Little did he know, he chose igate out of 5 offers in hand. From the day one it has been a story of utter frustration and confusion about what to do and what not. A person of 4.5 years work exp - he has not written a single line of code from the last 6 months. Morning till evening just think of getting some work and it never happens. To add to the woes the company sent a mail to all employees informing that the notice period has been changed from 1 month to 3 . Probably another mean to stop them leaving after they have been caught by the igate hrs somehow. If you talk to the managers they will all ask to come the next day and will become busy the exact time you asked to meet. Its a real pathetic situation. Well if you're thinking i am talking about a rare case, that guy has got a whole lot of colleagues sharing the plight. I request all of you to kindly pay attention and think 100 times before becoming a part of “number 2 “ employer. I feel that’s why the term “ 2 numberi” has come into picture”. And yes, if you someone who can wait for eternity for an long term onsite, go ahead.
