AVOID GYAN RACHANA TRAVEL AGENCY AT ALL COSTS A NIGHTMARE DISGUISED AS A HOLIDAY
We booked a premium family travel package to Leh-Ladakh for 4 people with Gyan Rachana Travel Agency TWO MONTHS in advance, dreaming of a smooth, luxurious and well-planned experience. What we got instead was a disaster from Day 1.
We were promised a "perfect dream vacation." What we received was a pathetic excuse of a trip full of broken promises, cheap accommodations, zero accountability, and the most arrogant, unhelpful staff you can imagine.
First lie? We paid extra for a hotel right in the heart of Leh market, which was confirmed in writing. But when we arrived, we were dumped 2 km away with zero options or apology. We were told this with a cold "now you're in Ladakh, deal with it" attitude. Absolutely shameless.
The hotels throughout the trip were the LOWEST budget options possible, some as cheap as ₹1.5k a night, when our package clearly included stays worth ₹5k/night. We faced basic issues like NO electricity, NO hot water, and don't even think about Wi-Fi its a joke. The worst stays were at Hunder and Pangong Lake, where it felt like we were abandoned in the middle of nowhere.
They had lied to us about hotel facilities we only discovered the horrifying reality once we arrived. With no support, we had to pay out of pocket and book our own hotel in Hunder just to survive the cold night with hot water and heating essentials that were non-existent in the garbage they put us in. Even after promising to reimburse if we found better options, they flatly refused to return a single rupee. A bait and switch at its finest.
The absolute worst experience was in Pangong. We rejected the horrible ₹1.5k/night room they booked, booked a new one ourselves, and Gyan Rachana made us pay for it again while keeping our original money. My younger brother fell sick due to the freezing conditions, and even then they showed ZERO humanity. We requested help, pleaded for time to make payments once we reached an area with signal, but were threatened and humiliated by Gaurav Sharma the xxxxxxxx owner and his equally rude and indifferent staff, Abihnav and Bharat Bhushan.
The way they spoke to us, the tone, the heartless behavior as if we were just a transaction and not humans. All they cared about was money, not safety, not service, not even basic decency.
Gyan Rachana Travel Agency is NOT a travel company. Its a SCAM operation run by a gang of smooth-talking fraudsters who will say anything to close a sale and then leave you stranded in the mountains.
The only thing that saved this trip was the stunning beauty of Ladakh and the fact that we had each other. Do NOT fall for their lies. Do NOT book with this company. We went through hell I hope this review saves you from the same.
