I dont know why tabloids come in the market. If they want to provide us with news then I think we have better papers like HINDU or TOI etc and if they want to give us our daily dose of entertainment then our that requirement is fullfilled by each and every newspaper in their supplements. Here I want to question the very existence of a Tabloid called Mumbai Mirror .
Todays edition of Mumbai Mirror has written about a boy who, being scared of his teacher, made a hoax call to his Principal about a bomb in the school premises as its FRONT PAGE NEWS?
Can u imagine it was a sheer wastage of 6 columns and this news was continued even in the third page so altogether a waste of 9 columns. I dont say that they shouldn't have carried this piece of news but on the front page.no way. Front page is meant for headlines of the day and not for soft news!
More important issues like resignation of Jharkhand CM Arjun Munda, trial of 1993 blasts convicts, Indo-US Nuclear deal, comments of Pope Benedict on Islam, Zaveri Bazaar issue, Malegaon blasts case, etc, everything was sidelined by them. In todays time when people have a very hectic schedule & have avery little time for themselves what they want is some serious news that affects them in some way, has something to do with them or is informative but who is interested in such a piece of news?
This tabloid rather than giving news tries to create news just in order to be different in their content from other papers.
I think its high time now that it should get serious in its content otherwise it wont take consumers a long time to switch to other NEWSPAPERS that do their primary job(provide news) well.
