Born on 23rd august at Trichur in Kerala, Krishna Kumar Menon aka KK is definately the most enchanting, the most melodius and the most touching voice of Indian Film Industry. He did his graduation from Kirori Mal College Under Delhi University and in college he was the main vocalist of 3 different bands. Before taking up singing as his profession he did some jobs but very soon he realised that its not meant for him( a blessing for all music lovers) & it had to be music and nothing else.
Though I dont say that Sonu Nigam, Shaan or Udit Narayan are not as good as him but then for me he got an edge above the rest.
He started with singing title tracks of serials(Hip HIp Hurray, Just Mohabbat) & jingles for ads(Pepsi, Frooti, TVS Scooty, Coca Cola, Colgate Gel, etc). His first biggest bollywood break came when he was asked to sing a song for the movie MAACHIS. The song was'Chhod aaye hum wo galiyaan' and after that it was no looking back as the bollywood opened its gate wide for him.
How can one forget the song "Tadap Tadap Ke" from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. In his very own words it was a landmark in his career. Whether its'O Humdum' from the movie saathiya, 'Awarapan Banjarapan' from Jism, 'Gori Gori' from Main Hoon Na or songs fron his first album Pal, they have all been chartbusters of its time.
Choosing Top five of his songs would be very difficult for me so I would just write some of my favourites sung by him.
