Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy are back and how!!!! Dil Chahta Hai is one of the better albums to be released this year. With good orchestration, great singing and rich lyrics to match, this is a winner all the way.
Dil Chahta Hai the first song of the album starts with a very catchy beat. Sung by Shankar Mahadevan himself, the song has very good orchestration and sets the mood for the entire album. The song is repeated on Side B. The mood is carried forward in Jaane Kyon by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The song is a dialogue between a believer and non-believer of love. Interesting composition.
Shaan and Kavita Sunramaniyam team up for the next Voh Ladki Hai Kahan. This song is infused with a Scottish like feel and tempo to it and makes for good hearing. Srinivas sings the next number Kaisi Hai Yeh Rut poignantly. A good mellow song with rich https://lyrics.
Side B starts with the very up-tempo Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe. The song reminds one of the disco days with a rhythm like this and Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan and KK sing here with ease. Akash's Love Theme is an instrumental piece as is Rockin' Goa. Tanhayee by Sonu Nigam is a good end to this wonderful album.
