Since so many years, which music director is said to be a magician?Who produces that kind of a music which once gets on your ears and then never gets off your mind?It is the none
other than A.R Rahman! The same music director who gave us such classic albums, with Mani Ratnam, such as Roja,Bombay and Dil Se....He is back with another excellent album, through Mani Ratnam`s latest film,Yuva.****************************************************

THE SONGS:1.
Dhakka Laga Bukka-
A.R Rahman,Karthik,Mehboob:This track is a very different one from the opening tracks of other
filmi soundtracks. This song sounds as if someone is threatening someone.Actually, the singer sounds as if he doesn`t fear anything. The lyrics are written in such a way,and the lyricist
Mehboob, does an excellent job,for writing such different lyrics. It doesn`t mean that the singers are any less.
A.R Rahman along with
Karthik and
Mehboob sings this song, and the singers sing with their full mood, not at all,do they sound disinterested.Though, you won`t be very easily able to understand, what the singers are singing, but then this is how they
HAD to sing.
2.
Khuda Hafiz-
Sunitha Sarathy,Lucky Ali,Karthik:This will definitely be considered as the best song in this album,as it can get well along with the classes as well as masses. The singers do a very good job,but it is
Sunitha Sarathy, who sings the best and can divert your attention towards her voice, because of the way she whispers and make such sexy sounds.I first thought, that it was Sunidhi Chauhan, but it wasn`t and that`s a good thing that such new
talented singers are being given chance to display their talents.Agreed, that Sunitha Sarathy,is the best in this song, but this doesn`t at all mean that
Lucky Ali is any less.He breathes life into the song, after the female singer whispers.Suddenly,Lucky Ali shouts
Anjaaaaaaanaaaaaaaa. The song starts as a slow one,and is about to finish but then when Lucky Ali enters,a new life is given to the song, again. The song,as you can see on trailors,is picturised on Vivek Oberoi and Kareena Kapoor. An unusual pair!
3.
Kabhi Neem Neem-
Madhushree,A.R Rahman:This song may remind you of the music from the black-and-whte movies. The music of this song,is indeed a very different one to listen to,in these days.It has a very
classy touch to it.The another highlight of the song is
Madhushree`s melodious and delicate voice. She sings this song, beautifully and though
A.R Rahman also sings in this song,in parts, but it is Madhushree,to whome the song completely belongs. This song has extra-ordinary music and very
cute lyrics and as it is picturised on Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherji, who are shown as very old fashioned people, that`s why the song goes very well with the picturisation.
4.
Dol Dol-Lyrics by
Blaaze featuring ethnic vocals by
Shaheen Bada:This one is a rap track with lyrics like
salaam namaste. This track will be loved by the youth,as it carries a very enrgetic music,to it and has that
punch,to give to its listeners.
Shaheen Bada, does a wonderful job and Rahman, dares to be very different through this track,as such tracks are very rarely found in Bollywood movies soundtracks.
5.
Baadal-
Adnan Sami,Alka Yagnik:This song will instantly remind you of
Aye Udi Udi Udi from
Saathiya,the main reason being obviously
Adnan Sami.He makes you remind you of the above mentioned song, but there is no harm to it,as this song has a very different music from the Udi Udi,song.
Alka Yagnik, seems to be back in complete form, after a long tiume, after getting tired by singing those
typical Hindi film songs.By looking at the cover of the CD,that this song has been sung by Alka Yagnik,
DON`T expect it to be a same old kind of song.It is indeed very different. Also, when Adnan Sami says
Uski Marzi,in between the song,it sounds very good!
6.
Fanaa-
A.R Rahman,Sunitha Sarathy,Tanvi:This is one such song, which has very different lyrics from the songs,we normally listen. The word Fanaa, itself is very different, which means disaster. The song carries a very high beat, which makes the song worth being played at discos or dance parties.
A.R Rahman,sings this song with a lot of enthusiasm.His
sa ga ma pa,part is really impressive. The singer
Tanvi may remind you of Vasundhara Das,nevertheless, she is superb,in her rendition.
Sunitha Sarathy comes as a guest singer in this song, and she sings her little bit, very well.
*******************************************************************
ON THE WHOLE:Yuva album is the reincarnation of classic albums, which I mentioned earlier (
Roja,Bombay,Dil Se...),but with a youthful touch to it.It`s each and every song is worth listening, because each is different from the other.Neither the songs are too long, which may sound boring and nor are they the
as usual stuff. This album dares to be different from other albums, and this is definitely a big
NO for those listeners who like to listen to those sweet Bollywood songs. For them,I would recommend albums such as
Run or
Bardaasht and for the others,I can say-enjoy this one!
DON`T MISS IT!
