When you see the names Rehman and Ramgopal on the cover of one album the expections are astronomical.....and Yuva fullfills those expectations. Yuva is the blockbuster album were were waiting from A. R.
Rehaman since Sathiya. After a string of flop and semi hit albums ( Tehzeeb, Lakeer and Meenaxi), Rehman is back with an album that just swipes you off your feets.
Its not like Rehman was truly off color in his erlier albums, he had a couple of good songs in each of his perivious albums, but rest of songs lacked substance. This time around Rehman is in full form, and he shows you why he is the Numro uno.
I am listing the songs in the order I like them.
My personal fav is Shukriya Meherbani... The song starts off with the slow rendring by Sunitha Sarathy. The melody takes a sudden halt after the first line and u are cought unaware by the techno beats and the husky voice of Lucky Ali. From that point its Rehmans typical music all the way, the music moves with a strong tempo. You get addicted to this song more and more with each listning. The song is allready bieng aired in the trailers. A hit all the way.

The second favourate is Hone do dil ko fana......
Rehman plays a double role in the song. The song is sung by him along with Sunitha again. The song is more like a disco track. With the tecno beats in the background with constant overlapping of vocals by Rehman. The alap in the background along with constant Fanaaaahhh... chant by rehman gives a third dimension to the song. Like all rehman composions this also grows on you. This can be considered as one of the best disco songs ever composed by rehman. It could be compared to i wanna be free from Tehzeeb, only a far supireor song than the latter.

Then comes the Dol Dol Dol.....
A complete techno song, with an Indian touch. The song opens with a high pich renderation taken out of the book ok Alisha Keys, but it doenst takes long for rehman to come to the point. The beat opens with drums doling on a beat which reminds us of the intro of tu hi tu. Much cant be said in terms of the lyrics, to speak of lyrics there arent any audible lyrics if there are any exept dol...dol na paape..salam namste. But Rehmans music fills out the void of the vocals, infact ther isnt any need for any vocals. You get hooked to the song instantly. This song will be one of the future party songs for sure. Another chart topper.

Kabhi neem neem....
Rehman returns to the folk with this song. The opening of the song reminds of the opening of the chalka chalka re from sathiya...this is because of the unique style of Rehamn and the use of the instuments. The song then goes back to the late 70s majhi songs with the male singer rendering...which is again infact Rehman himself. The song stands out as the pace of song never drops, it moves on same pace throughout. The renderation by Madhushree is of the highest quality, in the olny melodieus song.

Yuva.... This can be said as Meherban Part II. The song is in the same mood as the latter. It symbolises the power of the youth. The song is ruthless in its feel. The also getss better with each listneng. Its one of the better songs.

Suno Suno...
After a string of newcomers when u see the names of the likes of Adnan Sami and Alka Yagnik, you know you are in for a treat. Adnan is in his usual self while rendering this song. This song is the one for you if you are a Adnan Fan. Too many things happen in this song for me to keep track... diffrent beats at a time, short stops, frequent breeaks in the song. It all breaks the the rhythm of the song.

A collectors item. One of the best albums of this year. With 5 out of 6 above average songs and 3 exptionally good songs, this album is worth yor money.
