I was admitted for a viral infection for 3 days - the doctor was very good - Dr.Radhika - I readily agreed when the doc advised me to get admitted - but I was in for a big shock - the so called deluxe rooms which they charge Rs.5500/- was worse then a lodge room you would find in a C class town - the toilets were horrible - only one tap out of the hot & cold was working - there is no mirror / hand wash soap / tissues in the bathroom/toilet.
The food given to the patient is another major goof up - I was given the afternoon dal heated up in the night and when I complained they say that the main chef has not turned up for work.
The emergency bell kept near the patient was supposed to be for SOS - but if the patient rings it you will have a house keeping maid coming in after 20 minutes and asking you what the hell do you want - then you request for a nurse and one will turn up after 45 minutes - if it is an emergency then God save that patient.
The quality of staff in house keeping / catering is absolutely pathetic - they walk into your room without knocking and then start chatting loudly among themselves - they would make the patient have a 2nd heart attack if he has come for treatment for the 1st one.
I had been continuously following up for having a meeting with some senior member of the hospital - but nobody bothered to even call me. I was surprised to hear from some staff that there is a serious staff shortage or labour problem in the hospital.
The final nightmare was the discharge procedure - mine started at 7 am in the morning - my wife had to run around to the insurance desk at least 10 times to get things sorted out - the irony is that only one of the lifts were functioning.
