Yamaha ybx125 .. worth the buy. Review on Yamaha YBX

I own ybx 125 from april 2001 the new version with motogp graphics is cool...Good things abt this bike

1) Raw power..... I mean 125 cc motor churns out 11 horses.. this is unheard off till date...( except the honda ..stunner launched in 2008) but yamaha are doing it since 2000

Pick up is phenomenal..... a well tuned ybx has power surge comparable to that of 180cc pulsars and unicorns..

2) excellent handling.. great control and stability and bullet proof engine...

mines never broken down till date ( I ve done abt 60, 000 kms till date with regular services aft avg of 2000 kms)

3) no nonsesne performer. ( remember july25 , 2005, mumbai was drowned... I came from pune to mumbai 160 kms. flat out.. the engine just keeps working ....) even half submerged.. with water reaching upto the fuel knob.... the bike was under control and engine and electronics performed...flawlessly

4) returns abt 50 kms / litr .. I think thats fair enough..

not so good thngs :

1) seating on ybx is like sitting on a woodern plank. and your rear statrs hurting after abt 2 hrs of riding.

2) plastics are shitty quality

3) no spares easily available

4) tail lamp cover breaks aleast twice a year...if u replace...... it breaks again

5) fifth gear was probably not invented.. so we don't blame yamaha..

verdict :

ignore the not so good things.. trust me.. its worth the buy....simple regular maintainance

and you have happy and reliable motoring for years...
