From 4 stroke 200 CC Avenger, I down-earthed myself to 100 CC 2 strokes during last 2 years and was extremely comfortable, when I sold off my Max 100 50+ mileage bike for some new 4 stroke bike. I was ok with any, just any that pulls my 125 KG weight.
Got a 4.5 yr old Yam SS 125, found it in reasonably decent condition, paid 25.5 K had run 22.8K KM. First owner vehicle with no accidents and Decent scratches all over.
Cons:
1) Got it locally serviced, found it had already been screwed by the last owner and had lost 3rd gear performance. So it makes burrrr sound in that gear but still runs well. Overall since the vehicle was screwed well, gear system and chain has some vibrations and some discomfort. But then this was second hand vehicle right?
2) Height a little high for someone like me with 5.6 height and big thighs (may be I was so addicted to short vehicles like Avenger or Suzuki Max 100 or my buddy the all time great Yamaha RX 135 with short Yezdi tyres).
Pros:
1) Pick-up-Very good if not excellent. Takes my weight well.
2) Headlight-Very good, clear visibility.
3) Seat-Wonderful and should say comfortable overall.
4) Design - very nice.
5) Mileage - not checked, but my prev owner told 55+ easily attainable in Bangalore city driving conditions. So even 50 is ok. anything over is a bonus.
6) Silencer sound - good, really wonderful without doubt.
7) Does not trouble you often, at least this is my experience in last 1 month.
8) Has all the necessary meters like Tachometer, fuel indicator & RPM meter.
9) Horn is perfect so no further comments.
Advice: Maintain your vehicles in good condition. Drive in safe speeds. Do not screw the vehicle the way you use your ex, in room. Check tyre pressures weekly basis. Change engine oil every 1800 KM. Try using Synthetic OIL. Grease the chain regularly.
Wash the vehicle regularly and ensure you take note of rusting. Always keep 1 set of spare parts handy. Even though it is extra cost, but it will save you in crisis.
By the way all these advice are same for all the vehicles so those who do will have vehicle performing for 10+ years. Those who don't become previous owners of these bikes.
Recommendation based on my transparent opinion-
1) 20% OK/Not OK sort of bike, why- All bikes have some or other issue. This% is constant.
2) 20% Recommendable, why- You will not lose a friend or in relation recommending this.
3) 20% Highly recommended, why-The guy you reccomended will love you more.
4) Rest 40%, A must have bike - You have given perfect advice for the first time in your life.
Thats It for now.
Drive Safely on city roads or else enjoy safe trip to heaven and wave your hands from there for Yamaha Fans. We still will keep our love for you.
Bye Bhai's.
