Yamaha RX 135 was the star performer of its time, carrying a 5-speed gearbox and claiming a top speed of 110 kmph at that time. The 132 cc engine was 2-stroke, producing 14 BHP and 12.25 Nm of torque. Its 116 kg of lightweight body made it perform like a pocket rocket while mileage was never a strong point for the RX 135. It came with drum brakes on both ends while competition for the bike was simply ended as all of the two strokes were banned under strict emission norms by the government.
