I`m not big fan of Yamaha! until I bought this wonderful machine.
I can clearly say the Pros & Cons of this bike as I done a lot & lot with this R15 V2 stuff before and after buying this machine.
Pros:-
1)Style-I think I don`t need to explain this in detail as you all know.
2)Acceleration-I start seeing the speedometer often after buying this machine, Since I`m not sure at what speed I`m traveling. The speed transmission is ultimate and crown for this bike.
3)Mileage-I bet you don`t expect this in pros segment, But the truth is it will give 45 km/hr in the highway(400km I went tirupathi from chennai 200+200 up& down) & 40 km/hr in the City(Even in Chennai city traffic) circumstance.Hope you all interested on this now.
The steps are so simple to achieve this 1)Don`t over rev-Love the machine don`t let it to cry. 2)Don`t travel below 50 km/hr and don`t above 65 km/hr for a long duration.(3000-5000rpm) 3)Do the service properly.(Beware that the mechanics at service stations are really stupids and they will handle your most loved machine like a toy if you are not hard with them), Mention each and every problem which u felt on earlier duration and get the fix.
4)Technology-All the stuffs like ECU, Timer control, Synchronized exhaust etc you may already aware of, so I just call it as technology which is far more better than other 150 cc bikes
Cons:
1)Rust forming - Even though you have maintained your R15 like gold you can`t stop it get rusting in their discs and some minor parts like holding clips, foot rest corners, welding joints. But relax I just said you can`t prevent but there is some "cure" for it, Just use chromium spray on disk and paint spray for minor touch ups where its needed, Also don`t forget to use Wax polishes(I use Formula 1 which is really good) at the end of your cleaning process.
2)No ABS - Even though the installed Nissin brakes are too good, it still have the issue of wheel lock.I`m not sure how come they missed ABS in the machine which will go faster than 140 km/hr(Hope that will be fixed in R15 v3 along with the pillion seat issue)
3)Pillion seat-I bet you guess this already, Unfortunately in R15 v2 pillion is made just for two factors(Aerodynamics, Girlfriends)
Don`t imagine a tall and fat guy in pillion who posses 100 kg force when you are in hurry to stop the machine from 100km/hr to 0 km/hr. But the true fact is when you ride it as "SOLO" then only the looks are awesome & aerodynamics are too good too.
