Some people dont consider it to be but a review is an essay. Like all essays, they include your introduction, your points and your conclusion. Those that have never written an essay most likely have
trouble writing reviews and produce garbage schpeels on the site and get rated Somewhat Recommended. The way to go is this way.

Before you start

Don’t just pick the topic and just start writing any mumbo jumbo that comes to mind because your brains thoughts aren’t organized until you organize it yourself. You will be blurting out thoughts and it will come out as filth.

Try by starting to gather some thoughts in your head, at least 4 main points that you want to describe about your topic and service and be able for each main point to mention 2 or 3 things. Either write these points down on a sheet of paper or if you have the brain power, memorize them.

Your Introduction and Title

First, have a title that suits the product, don’t just put the exact same title.

ie. Product : McDonald’s
Title of Review : McDonald’s

That’s just too simple and people won’t be as enthused to visit your review.

A title that would grab your readers attention is, let’s say .....’’And let me tell you about the time I found a rat head in my burger’’. Now that’s a title! You’re drawing the reader into the review.

Your introduction should give your opinion of your review very vaguely. You don’t want to give the whole point away or else the reader will fade off because (s)he knows what you are going to say anyway.

How to Organize and Main Body

Organize your thoughts after your introduction for a neat and easy read.

This is not acceptable (as some writers do this) :

I went to Mcdonalds and they served me some crap.
   They were so slow
    I wanted to get out of there so fast

I have seen reviews structured so badly that I want to go to their house and teach them English 101.

If again for example your review is on Mcdonalds, organize it this way

<INTRO>
Main Point 1 Bolded
Talk about point 1 in 2-3 ways
Main Point 2 Bolded
Talk about point 2 in 2-3 ways
.
.
<CONCLUSION>

Make it look professional; don’t try to make it look like your posting to a message board.

Conclusion

Sum up your thoughts on the overall product and give a specific recommendation on the product based on what you said (and sum up what you said briefly).

Always fix your mistakes

Mouthshut.com conveniently after your review is in draft mode tells you some suggested spelling mistakes and asks you to fix them. FIX THEM!! Other members are neat freaks and will most likely rate you lower if there are many spelling errors.

Overall Thoughts on Writing a Review

I hope you follow my advice. It is not my creation, but is a world-wide strategy in writing pieces on any given topic. The structure is always the same and is definitely the best way.
