Hi
I began seeing
mouthshut.com 3 years back based on word of mouth publicity.... as the name itself suggests MouthShut, its indeed an 100% Indian product review site where you can
express your views on any product or service or lodge serious onslaught on any product. Basically reason for me on getting hooked to mouthshut was primarily because I was looking for an review on TATA MARINA car which was new to market in 2005 and I wanted to know how good it is or how bad it is, so based on the review I got It gave me a confidence booster to buy the product.
But somehow now I feel that there are some company people whose intend is to tarnish their competetive company image or god know what, they keep on critisizing some or the other product without having any proofs. This is really worrying me. I have seen this in some of 2 Wheelers review especially in HONDA Activa site.... there are few people who have written any rubbish about the product which it does not deserve, I know its poor i milege but its MAKE and ergonomics is superb. So when you post any good review of any popular brand there are 3 to 4 people who bang on you by writing bad critics on that product.... maybe its the marketing people to promote their brand
Ok talking about Mouthshut, there are some usability issues that need to be sorted out like
1. Firstly, there should be My Page sort of thing (which is there but not made prominently or a bit confusing). My page should make me choose whats my favorite reviews and be more interactive
2. The site should be more speedy, as of now most of the time its takes sometime to open up the review, maybe usage of AJAX technology shoudl solve their problem
3 There should be an provision for user to write REVIEW of some new product. At present there is no provission for that. Suppose if I want to write about a new product, for example NEW SPARK car which has come up, I had to wait till, the mouthshut people post the review title.
So by and large and excellent site to express your feelings. However I also would have loved to see if some action would have taken place by the company people, sort of customer service replying to the critics received against them
