I am not able to grasp the reason why we are lagging behind immensely with reagrds to the Broadband rates offered to individual customers.
Just have a look  at this comparision-
In UK and Norway who have much higher standard of living  than INDIA they pay  for 8 mbps GBP 10.00(THATS INR 850.00), WHEREAS I have 256  kBps for RS. 1450/-(APPROX GBP. 17.00( includes Cable Operator share/s). These are SIFY rates.And 256 kBps is max we can subsribe to !!   Any reason why this vast difference ? Is it Government policies??? Is it monopolistic area??  Are we lacking in infra structure ? Are we not investing enough ??? I simply do not know.Pls try to throw some light on this huge discrepancy, I would call it a great hinderance to growth and learning and development  really !!!

And I thought we were the world capital for BPO and software sourcing, how does this compare with our rates. Viewers send your opinion, Thanks.
