Cleansing Action:

Once again in life I have come across a wonderful washing powder. I have tried many over the years and I do have my favorites and this one will be added to my list! I like the way it cleans the clothes and it has a very nice smell to it!

Of course this washing detergent has been around a long time, in fact I have used the liquid version several times but hardly ever the powder. I have always been happy with the liquid and felt that I should be just as happy with the powder so I tried it again. I was right I do like it.

I will now use both the liquid and the powder in this product. They both clean well, but the one I am going to talk about is the powder. And it is much cheaper than the other leading brands!

Wisk® Stain Dissolving Power detergent is a powder that cleans well. The smell is very pleasant and I have had no complaints in the house about using it. The powder is white with small blue granules, which are the stain fighters.

There is a light green (almost clear) measuring scoop that comes in the box and it is marked with two fill lines for the correct measuring of the detergent. However, as most of us do we just scoop out what we think we need and pour it into the washer. Keep in mind if you have a water softener like I now do you will certainly use less than normal.

When I wash a load of clothes I will start the water and then add the detergent to the water so it will start dissolving. I think this is the best way. Then I add the clothes that I have separated into the washer.

Of course the box recommends using hot water for white clothes, warm water for bright colors and permanent press and cold water for colors that may fade or bleed. I personally use cold water for all washing, unless sometimes there are harsh odors in the towels then I will use warm or hot water.

Wisk® powder is also great for pre soaking. I add about ½ scoop, depending on the stain and let the clothes sit for about ½ hour or so. Sometimes overnight depending on the stain. I will then wash as normal.

You can also use this detergent for pre treating easily. For grass stains I will make a paste and apply to the stain. (you can do this with any detergent brand you use.) I will make sure that the stained area is a little damp or wet and then apply the paste I have made to it. Let it set for ½ hour or so and then wash as normal. Always check to make sure the stain has come out before putting the clothes into the dryer. Once the heat of the dryer gets to the clothing the stain can more set in and be very difficult to get out. At least while the clothes are still wet you can reapply the paste you made and let it soak longer, overnight if necessary.

And be sure to always do a colorfast test before using any detergent. The best way to do this is to find an area in the clothing that is not normally seen and dip it into hot water then rub the powder into that wet area and if the color doesn’t run you are okay.

Always wash red clothing with red clothing. Unless you want pink clothing!

The box I got is 3 lb 15 oz in size and cost $4.97 (US Dollars). It is blue in color with the Wisk® orange colored writing. Will do about 32 loads of wash depending on how much you measure out.

Please be sure and check all ingredients before buying to make sure you are not allergic to any of them. Wisk® does come in a non-scented brand as well as other various scented brands. Wisk® does contain sodium carbonate. And I you happen to get into your eyes rinse thoroughly with water. And if your child or yourself for that matter happens to swallow any drink a glass of water or milk and call your doctor.

I have really enjoyed using this detergent and I do suggest that if you are in the market for a new detergent to try Wisk®.

I hope that this has helped in some kind of way!

God Bless!
