Story:

I recently visited a book fair held in town and had an oppurtunity to check out books of the famous authors and writers well known globally .My friend found this book pretty interesting since he was working for the American embassy in Delhi and once he was done with the book he suggested me to go through it but he did warn me though the book is interesting but being a biography it is slow.I did not think much about it and on a nice Sunday afternoon I sat on my easy chair with a nice warm cup of coffee and I started the book.

The story and the entire plot revolves around the war of Independence and the Constitution in America and the after effects of it.Before the war took palce the author described his land of birth to be very vulnerable and weak both political wise having had corrupt and selfish leaders and economically the Land was going down to the dust. For those who thought free land was freedom were soo wrong. This book documents politics on the American frontier in upstate New York, as William Cooper, self-made gentleman of the Republic amassed a fortune thorugh land speculation, only to lose it all because he failed to navigate the destabilizing effects of non- propertied Americans voting and their erosion of traditional social mores.William Cooper's son was none other than James Fennimore Cooper, author of Last of the Mohicans and Leather stocking and Deerslayer. Cooper examines J.F. Cooper's novels to see how he tried to redeem his father's life and the values of aristocracy on the expanding American frontier.

Once again, the book is slow but provided if you share an interest in American politics and the days when the country was being ruled and not governed then this book might be really interesting!*
