Jon Katzenbach, is one author whose books on organizational culture are absolutely brilliant. I have The Wisdom of teams by him and was looking forward to reading more of his work. This book too is very well researched and brilliantly written. Katzenbach emphasizes on the fact that money is not the most motivating factor in an organization.
According to him, monetary incentives do play a big role, however, it is not the driving factor. In long run people will wish to stick to a company only if they feel that they have been appreciated and treated well.
Katzenbach highlights the importance of pride building and gives examples of companies that have been successful because they have valued their employees and treated them with respect, in other words has done pride building. Katzenbach has shared his views, insights and the points mentioned by him do make sense. He has presented a kind of model which could be and should be followed by organizations all over the work. I really look forward to reading more books by him.
