I once went to Whitefield Honda to get a Honda City checked. I was buying this used car from a dealer and wanted an honest opinion about the car from a genuine party. After taking an appointment and arriving at the service center I was made to wait 45 mins to be able to speak to a service agent.
Once he decided to meet me, I was only given an option to get the car serviced so that a technician would be able to check the car thoroughly. With the need of having the car checked for any accidents, major repairs, upcoming replacements, etc I agreed get it serviced and to pay R.875 for the same. On my return back to the service center in the evening, wherein I was made to wait for at least 90 mins, I was told by a technician that the car is in excellent condition except for brake overhauling which would had to be done in next 5k kms. Also the technician assured that the car was completely accident free except for minor work on the right fender.
Going by the so called Honda authorized service center opinion I purchased the car, only to come to know about its hidden faults one by one. The A/C soon failed within a few days of the purchase. The clutch life was almost over and it used to slip very often. But the most important fact - the car had undergone major accident and body repair works and the boot had major rusts within it - this was not either disclosed to me or the service center failed to recognize them. Either of the cases are not good in my opinion. I believe they are highly incompetent.
