I bought Whirlpool RO classic 605 litre in the month of August 2012 for RS 10000 with one year warranty. In February 2013 i.e within six months RO stop its function and when service person was called to detect the fault , he told us that three filters and one membrane is out of order and its replacement. When we told him to replaced he talked to the service centre and told us to pay rs 5000 as it is chargeable , and is not included in warranty.
I was shocked to know that the RO machine costing 10000 of multinational brand covers nothing under its warranty period and when we inquired that if within three months of replacing new filter and remembrance this membrane again stop working then whether replacement is free? The service person told us that it is chargeable.
Hence whirlpool machine costing Rs 1000 can bring additional cost of Rs 10000 in a warranty period.
My advice is not to go for any whirlpool product as it is waste of money , time and peace of mind.
