What I meant by changes, not change flowing into the company:) . I mean filling so called LOB manager roles or senior management roles with people from outside the organization. Seriously why would anybody do that?

Do you trust a devil that you know or the one you dont? Simple logic, right? But the leadership team or who ever thinks otherwise. Not sure how they trust someone from out side - whose track record is also not so great as per comments on the floor.

Shouldnt this be consider a failure of both LT team as well as so called LOB managers? Isnt it evident that they cannot groom people for the past 10 years? 10 years is a long time, isnt it? I am not sure why cant they put this, grooming leaders, as their goal. May be something like one person out of 50 under their structure every year, or something like that.

Not promoting the boot licking cronies, but actual leaders. There is one caveat, though, that these so called existing LOB managers should them selves be capable people in the first place. This is what happens when you hire or promote people who lack basic skills in hiring, performance management and coaching and development. Hope LT show some courage by correcting any mistakes they made.

I think I used to understand the reason behind so called org initiatives. The thought process might be that these give the LT an idea or assessment about leaders in the pipeline. But not sure why these were not allowed to share with onsite people. Wouldnt it be great if they were told and have them onboard by making them mentors or something? Instead these were used as tick marks and some incapable people got undeserving roles.

Or else why dont we force local managers to take ownership of some systems? I mean why dont they push for this? There would be pushback from onsite - but what about buyin from onsite top management? As long as you dont take some risks or let people take risks you cannot grow leaders.

Parent company provided a wondeful opportunity compared to other captives, to be independent in making major decisions. But it seems the local LT failed to use it and now slowly they want to move the decision making power back to US. what do you guys think?
