A Cowboy's Secretby Anne McALLISTER

This review is more the praise of the writing abilities of this fantastic writer than

the book, I chose it to come under Danielle Steel is because

This writer abilites far exceeds any female writer active today, if the other Lady writers are in nursery this lady is easily a professor.

This book is 185 pages of reading delight not because of the plot but because of the writeup and choice of words and there is nothing so sweet as the choice of words to describe a scene, thought, event, happenning and the story.

This is a romance novel main characters are

J.D.Holt and Lydia Cochrane.

J.D.Holt is a Montana Cowboy who has a secret and

He is through in what he does, he trains horses and he has a small ranch which is his only love , he loves ranch life more than anything in his life, Lydia Cochrane is a lawyer and she lives in a seperate world of her own but thinks J.D. is seriously Handsome and georgeous and she likes him a lot, since she is 9 years old.

Some of the dialogues are very well written :

He talked a better ride than he rode

I reckon there are really different kinds of smart.

He'd never met a girl who liked talking about cattle.

He never discussed calving or branding or the ideal birth weight of a calf with a girl before .

if she had to be in his life, so be it. He just didn't want to enjoy it !

He'd never met a woman who didn't talk all the time

Some scene described so beautifully by the writer in the book

A beam of headlights came over the rise, shone through the window and, for an

instant, broke the darkness of the room, then disappeared again.

She'd thought getting away to Helena would be enough. It wasn't. She could look out her window and see the mountains to the east and know that beyond them lay her dreams. She needed more mountains, more valleys, a river or ten.

An ocean wouldn't hurt. Distance. Lots of it.

in the meantime, she'd start making plans. Maybe she'd go back to Iowa City. Or New York. Or Timbuktu..

This book has slight sarcasm, wit, fun, humor, friendship and lots of romance its of very different kind, 2 people from very different walks of life how they come

togather and who they begin to respect each other and how they silently

like each other with lots of other characters coming and going between them,

its like the real life how things are always unequal and unsuitable.

The write up is funny However if given a choice I would have changed a little the ending of the story where J.D.turns out to be the son of other than holt senior

there was no need for this twist in the plot and there are some things in the plot of this novel which could be changed a bit , but 10,000 marks for the write up its simply un putdownable to the last.

Romance novels are not known for the plots nor for any other thing in the story than the feelings of love, it may generate inside the reader this book does it. Believe me I read Danielle steel Granny Dan, I regret it till today and will keep regretting until I have the power to regret. (maltese angel) this novel I will not understand why was it written.

A Cowboy's Secret is througly enjoyable,...........read it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
