The only reason I watched this movie was because it was a Spielberg movie. Mr. Spielberg, if you ever read this review, I have to say that this was nothing short of a disastrously unintelligent movie. Banking totally on the star power of Tom Cruise and some excellent promotions, this movie falls short of the expectations of the audience. This movie, devoid of any kind of logic or reasoning, showcases just the obviously very expensive special effects.

There is no plot in the movie - Earth attacked by aliens - I just summarized the entire movie in 4 words. The movie ends with the aliens for no reason whatsoever. It makes you think that Spielberg fell asleep during the screening and approved it. Bad move Mr. Spielberg; no one’s gonna trust your work again.

The only silver lining in this movie was the acting of the daughter of Tom Cruise, played by Dakota Fanning. One of the most talented child artistes in Hollywood, as always she does an excellent job of playing a scared kid thrown into a world filled with metallic and humongous aliens.

This movie is not worth your time and money, especially if you’re banking on the quality of films created by Spielberg. Ladies, if you’re looking to catch a glimpse of Tom Cruise, pick any other one of his movies if you want to remain a fan!
