I needed an AC for my shop 10ft x 10ft large. I already had experience of 3-4 ACs which were non- operable most of the time, due to our city's power supply problems. There is frequent power fluctuations and low voltage situations. So got recommendation for Voltas as an uncle was using it quite perfectly in their home.
Although the need was a 1.5 ton air conditioner but settled with 1 ton due to the power supply conditions. The two exits of the shop - 3 ft wide and 8 ft wide were covered with thick plastic as curtains. Yeah the AC had to work at a place which was not air tight.
The first year went almost fine with 2-3 visit requirements by the technician because of frequent coolant-leaks. Then it was due to a faulty connection from the main unit to the fan unit just behind the wall.
And it cools down the temperature to normal enough for daily duties; not chilling as the "room" isn't at all sealed. And that's all I required. It doesn't produce much of a sound to get you disturbed but for a 1 ton AC, the dimension of a body is large. The LG ACs are compact as well as sturdier.
However it serves its purpose very well, working during voltage fluctuations and also at voltages where other fails. Of-course you need a stabilizer.
