Bangalore! Supposedly the most happening city for the fast growing Cellular Service Provider which goes by the name HUTCH!

A customer’s perspective? HOPELESS

Here’s
my story:

I was using an Airtel pre-paid connection for more than a year now. Recently I decided to swith to post-paid and disaster struck. Though I was very happy with Airtel, for personal reasons, I chose Hutch. Everyone at office berated me, but most of my friends have somehow shifted to Hutch over the last one year and I thought I can save money in the long run being on the same loop with them. Poor me!!

Unbelievable sequence of incidents:
1. The person who came to collect the documents didnt know which scheme I was opting for.
2. Activation took a full 4 days.
3. Call drops is the name of the game. One night, during a talk with a friend over 35 mins or so, the call got disconnected a whopping 16 times.!! God help me.
4. Hutch call centers:
     * It seems: no customer log is maintained. Each time you call you have to tell the entire story, get held online, and most of the people lie through their teeth when talking about what they can do for a customer. Most of my friends on Hutch tell me horror stories of Hutch. And when I talk to Hutch they quote market research figures which qualify Hutch as the best service provider. Market research data can be easily bought!
4. Hutch does not list any contact id of people who can help customers in need of help. Customer care does not redirect telecalls to higher ups. BSNL is much better in this regard (have used BSNL prepaid in 2002 when they were just trying to set up a system)
5. Even Hutch employees agree that delivery report is a hoot when it comes to a Hutch connection.
    * Shows ’’pending’’ even after replies have been received.
    * Between 1800 and 2200 hrs. Even that does not come.
    * And on 1st of August (maybe for the hyped friendship day) sms’s just did not work.
6. Between 2230hrs on 31st July and 0840hrs on 2nd Aus 2004, my Nokia 3315 was just a phone book.

This is my state in the 2 weeks I have been a Hutch customer. Only God knows what else is in store for me.

Friends do rush to the nearest temple if you are on Hutch!
