Hi,

I have been a customer for Vodafone (formerly Hutch) for more than 3 years now. I was lured to this service because of the Family & Friends (F&F) offer in the initial days which let me connect
to 5 of my friends for free (which soon became free to charged service)!

Initially it was OK for most of the times but my recent experiences with them has been very bad. I shall start with some of my oldest sore experiences and then come to the recent ones. I have a pre paid connection, some time back I suddenly realized some thing wrong with my talktime balance for few months. So, I called up the customer care and they mentioned that they were charging Rs. 30/- per month for the F&F package and another Rs.30/- for the caller tunes (which I was aware of). They did not bother to inform me regarding the charges for the F&F, anyways, I asked them to cancel both the services and the Customer Care Representative (CCR) said he will do that and should be effective in few days! It then went along with another few recharges and then I realized that the amount was still getting deducted! I then had to follow up again atleast twice to resolve the issue.

A similar issue happened when I went to US and I had to take a international roaming enabled card. They activated the roaming automatically when I left from here but did not deactivated when I returned back, when after a year I realized that I had lost some thousand of rupee, I called them up just to know that I had been paying for international roaming all though being in India.

Well these were the smaller issue as long as these people were doing their basic bussiness right, recently I moved to a new appartment at a prime location of the city. Soon I realized that there was no network signal inside the house (it was faint in the balcony). Immediately I raised an online complaint on 22nd of May! After 2 days I got a call from a CCR that they have received a request and the problem shall be resolved soon. I was happy that they shall resolve the problem soon as the cell was the only connection I had in my house. All most a week passed by and nothing happened, and then I called up the customer care. I was informed that they have identified the problem and they shall resolve it by 14th June 1pm..I was angry that they did not informed anything and also that they would take so long to resolve a issue which actually is supposed to be their bussiness, "selling connectivity", but I remained silent. 14th June came and passed by, the problem still existed and now it was 20th June...So I called up again, then they said that there is some issue which needs another weeks time to resolve!!!! What! another time to provide your service!! I was really mad this time, not only because they are taking so long but also they were not at all bothered to inform regarding the status of my complaint in case they are not able to resolve it by the time they had promised it to be done earlier. Well I said to myself, let them atleast fix the issue. This time they had promised to resolve the issue by 22nd June 1pm..I waited till 21st June and thought that any ways these guys are not bothered to give an update, so why not call them and remind them that they are suppose to resolve the issue by the next day. To my worst thougth, they said that "Sir! the problem needs a months time to be resolved and can’t be done by next day!". This time I was really very sad and angry, I scolded them and asked for a compensation, but what could I expect from a company which is not bothered about its own customers!

The issue is still not resolved, it is not 1month 16days since I had raised this issue and am now planning to shift to some other provider. But one thing I certainly tell each one who is thinking about getting this network, is not to think about Vodafone because if you choose to be a part of the miserable Vodafone customer family, you shall repent badly for it!
