The data download displayed on Vodafone is absurdly high... for the same amount of surfing done on any other card or broadband connection, you get hardly 1/4th, if not lesser, data usage. The data charges are humungously high - the rate comes to Rs.10per MB!
Effectively, for a 100Mb surfing/downloading (which, incidentally, is about just 20 to 25mb on any 'normal' connection), you will be charged Rs.1000!
Reminds of prices way back in 2001-2 when all this things about mobility seemed hi-fi! Talking of connectivity, Vodafone does not also have enough good coverage.
I traveled to Hyderabad, Lucknow and Kanpur on a recent trip realized there was no Vodafone network available in these 3 places.
I would reckon these cities are definitely in the top 20 cities in India! To get a bigger surprise, I realized VODAFONE CHARGES A HEFTY FEES WHEN YOU CONNECT TO SOME OTHER NETWORK to surf using its dongle.
So either u don't surf at all (making it useless to buy this product) or end up paying a huge bill for network services of other network operators! The Vodafone team is NEVER willing to disconnect your connection.
You have to shout and scream at their call center guys but they will NEVER forward your request for disconnection.
Ultimately you have to visit the famed Vodafone stores where after a wait of nearly 1 hour (on avg) you will be told, "to please not disconnect - you can change to some other plan". Highly sorry state of affairs!
