Let me share my experience with Vodafone data card.


I purchased Vodafone datacard few days back since the previous service provider MTS had to shut shop. I exchanged the MTS datacard for Vodafone. The number of card is 9769256218. Nightmare for me began since I purchased the same. It took 5 days for card to activate. I had three calls for activation. The caller made me feel like the criminal the way she was asking the question.


Furious with the same I refused to give answers and said that I don't want to activate the same. The next caller had to apologize for the same. This farce called activation continued for some time my wife informed me that one person was coming to my home frequently to verify by meeting me in person. This made me wonder if I have applied for credit card or something. I wouldn't have paid much attention to this if product was any good.


When I installed the software in that card on my laptop it corrupted my WiFi driver's settings and I could not connect to my WiFi router which is my main internet connection with unlimited account. I had a harrowing time restoring the settings. Took me all weekend.


Only when I removed the software and restored the laptop to previous system restore, I was able to connect to my router. So it was clear I had to choose between my router and data card. I chose the former.


Contrast to this my previous service provider MTS's service was outstanding.


They activated on same day, no harassment in verification.


The software was extremely simple and worked without flaw.


The speed even in roaming was good. I am very sorry they had to close shop due to court order and


I had to take Vodafone's poor product and service.


Fed up with all this I decided to close the account, and found it was again a harrowing experience.


I had to run from pillar to post. Finally today I received the mail from them confirming it is being closed.

The summary so far:


I paid Rs. 900 + MTS data card (Both of which will not be returned now)


Plus their mail says I have to pay the bill also. Here is their mail:
