I enjoyed this movie thoroughly. I liked the movie because the dialect is very familiar to me and carried me back in time to my hometown, Sivagangai.
The story was well spun and filmed.
I
admired Kamals efforts in this wonderful movie till I watched The life of David Gale, a Hollywood movie starring Kevin Spacey. In many Kamals movies, there have been a few scenes that I had earlier seen in a Hollywood movie. The telephone booth shot in Vetri Vizha which was lifted from FX-Murder by illusion is to name one scene. Indiran Chandiran is a straight lifting of Dave. And the imitation (or the feeling that he imitates) of Dustin Hoffman (Poppillan) in Anbae Sivam. In Virumandi the story is similar to that of The life of David Gale.
Nevertheless, Kamal is a great actor. Nobody can deny that.
Divya(Abirami) has done a good job. She has matured in acting.
