I was looking for a portable audio system, which I can use in my new home (temporary arrangement till I go for hi-fi 6.1 system). Basic things that I was looking for was Cassette Player + Audio CD +

MP3 CD + VCD + FM and Auxiliary input to play my SONY MD Player. My search ended in Vijay Sales, Thane when I saw this audio system. I was not happy with Sony and Philips for this kind of systems. The sales person (Amit Jha) in Vijay Sales (VSP) convinced that it is a German product and sold very well till now. It was quite cheap at Rs.3500 1 year ago; I bought it without giving a second thought. I checked the piece in the showroom with a CD, it was working well. It started giving problem at home when I tried to play couple of CDs and cassettes.
 The sound was not coming at all at some instances. On pressing BASS boost button on the front panel, I could heat some wobbling sound. I talked to VSP and immediately returned to shop with the system and CD. But surprisingly it played there very well. Even when the sales person came to home, it played well. It was giving problem in between which I could not show them. I asked for piece replacement but they refused stating they had only one piece in stock. There were stack of empty cartons of G-Hanz in the show room. I talked Sales manager of VSP asking for replacement or some other brand for extra money. He refused to take the product back, and assured that he will talk to G-Hanz about this and let me know.
Even after numerous calls, they were not able to tell me what they will be doing with my system. In between they told me that some technician would visit for servicing. But in vain... nobody turned up for 2/3 months. I used to bang the system to get the continuous sound from it. I gave up calling VSP and searched for G-Hanz support in Mumbai. They are located in Andheri, I talked to them (Mr. Collin) and explained the problem. Since it was in warranty, they agreed to check the system. A service technician came home found out some speaker cable connector was loose and due to which speakers used to get disconnected in between.
This was a simple fault that took 4 months to get repaired. Now the system is fine and working well. Great Sale Manager of VSP Thane (Mr. Das) never called me up after committing and giving me nice lecture on VSP service capabilities and customer orientation. He even added in the last call that he will replace the system at their cost to retain the customer if the product is found faulty and blah.. blah... Since then I never visited Vijay Sale showroom even for checking prices for any products. They claim to be the best showroom in Mumbai for electronic products, but for me they are the most unreliable, not worth of trusting for quality and after sales service support. I will not go in this shop again and won’t recommend anybody to buy anything from this shop.
