I bought a Venus Water heater 15 GLH Gold IV Horizontal appliance on 15th December from Shri Meenakshi Fan House Pvt Ltd, Madurai, on 16.12.15 along with many other appliances to the tune of slightly lesser than a lakh. While on installation on 18th, our electrician told me that the appliance produces coil burning smell upon switching on the machine and that it would not be wise to continue the installation. Without any second thought, we have stopped the installation and repacked the item.
The same was reported immediately to the seller and a replacement was requested. Instead, the seller has registered a complaint with the Venus service center on his won. We have refused for servicing because the machine could not even sustain the installation check. When I pressed for the replacement, the seller has arrogantly refused to replace. Meanwhile, one of the so called service engineers from Venus called me and started inquiring in a tone similar to that of an interrogation of a criminal by a Police.
It is obvious that the seller(Sri Meenakshi Fan House) and the Venus service team, if not the venus company itself, operates "Hand in Glove' in selling defecting machines.
How dare they sell a defective machine and behave ruthless. The arrogance of the seller and the Venus service person hurts worse than the fact that we were cheated.
I don't see any other option, excepting that of taking the issue to the District Consumer Dispute Reddressal Forum.
Never buy Venus. Never buy anything from Sri Meenakshi Fan House, Madurai.
Update(23.12.15): I have got the Venus water heater replaced with Racold after so much of mental agony, by the seller M/s. Meenakshi Fan House. Alas, a week long ordeal has come to an end with a good learning from a bitter experience.
