Embarrassing ill-treatment always experienced at ValueLabs:
Here is a real life incident while working @ ValueLabs… during one of the of clients visit at VL; Manish Ramchandani the then BizDev MAnasultanger asked his team member to pick up the travelling bag of that client. That is not a job of a business development guy, but the poor soul had to pick up the bag, maybe because of the fear of getting fired, if not complied. This is the culture of mAnasultangers @ ValueLabs. One needs to be multi-tasking – in the other words, you need to be an office boy, a servant, a maid, babysitter, asst., watchman etc., apart from your regular job.
Hiring:
At any given point ValueLabs have the previous year pass out graduates with an agreement/bond of 2 years. If anyone wants to quit the company within 2 years while breaking the bond, such person(s) is not given relieving letter, until - unless a huge amount is paid back - 75% of the company is filled with such BONDED labourers/Corp SLAVES.
Marketing Gimmick of VL:
A couple of busses you see with VL logo on the predetermined routes of Hyd are just a show-off. This is just a marketing gimmick to show off the logo around the city. They just shuttle from office to a predetermined place like railway stops and few bus stops and don't drop emp to their houses.
Another marketing gimmick is projecting their presence on different locations across globe. But, most of these are just sales folks residence operating from home.
Every year ValueLabs have their annual cele_45brations, for which they conduct few cultural programs and the winners in those cultural programs are determined not by the judges but by the higher mAnasultangement. Yes, you got it right - the mAnasultangement favor their favorite guys to be declared as winners. I heard it from one of the judges while they were taking about it, unmindful of my presences while getting down the elevator. This is the quote I heard from one of the judges "This time we will not tolerate Jyotsna's interference into our judgement and let us declare the right folks as winners" Well, to all those who don't know - Jyotsna is the wife of one of the SVP working for VL.
CMMI Certification:
This company claims to have CMMI Certification, but if you do research then one can find out that just one or two projects have got the certification. On the other hand it is portrayed as if the whole company is CMMI Certified.
Other attributes to note while working @ ValueLabs –
A typical Indian mind-set of authority and boss-subordinate culture
Unrealistic deadlines committed to clients, which in turn keep resources from leaving on time to their homes
Chaotic work distribution
Conflicting job expectations
Poor team working enviTestingronyent
ValueLabs claim to have perfected ETM model but have mostly 1 or 2 person projects
