Usha Mullapudi "cardiac center" is one of the worst hospitals I have seen. From the outset, they didn't make a good impression. We had our mother admitted to the hospital with multiple heart problems.
- The staff seemed incompetent and incapable of carrying out simple tasks. As an example, one of the nurses who was supposed to record blood sugar level 3 times a day failed to do so. Shockingly, when we visited our patient in the evening and just before we were leaving, we asked what was the sugar, she realised she hadn't recorded it on the case sheet. But quickly wrote down some number which we said she remembered! Utter lack of discipline.
With more patients to look after and less staff, the whole in-patient experience of mother as well as other patients we spoke to was unacceptable. For instance, there were severe delays with my mom's requests for assistance with daily chores(visiting toilets, help with food table etc).
On a number of occasions the nurses failed to even realise
- Lack of proper communication: Not only did doctors didn't communicate correct patient status with nurses and family of patients, but also among doctors. I was shocked to find out not only different, but also conflicting information when asked about my mom's condition. There were no active updates coming from either nurses or doctors. Even when asked they were reluctant to answer our simplest and most important queries - answering our queries with one-word answers.
Recommending this hospital is out of question, but if there were any rating 0, Usha Mullapudi would get one from me.
