Hi!Everyone.My topic of today`s review is something different.This review of mine,is on Uses of Minerals and Vitamin.Here is my opinion on this topic!This review
will cover the following topics:

1.Why we need food?

2.What`s in food?

3.What foods do for you?

4.The main vitamins and minerals you need.

*:::WHY WE NEED FOOD???:::

1.For growth and repair:
Your body grows by forming new cells.You also need new cells to replace dead ones.Cells are built from substances in food.

2.For energy:
You need energy to work your muscles,and all other organs.The energy in food is measured in calories or in kilojoules.

3.To stay healthy:
You need vitamins and minerals in food.Gums are destroyed if you don`t get vitamin C.

*:::What`s in food?:

Food contains a mixture of substances.The main ones are proteins,carbohydrates,fats,oils,vitamins,minerals,fibre, and water.

*:::What foods do for you?:::

Carbohydrates give energy.Sugar and starch are two types of carbohydrate.

Dietary fibre cannot be digested,but it prevents constipation.

Proteins are body-building foods,which are needed for growth and repair.

Fats and oils give twice as much energy as other foods,which are stored for warmth and future use.

*::::THE MAIN VITAMINS AND MINERALS YOU NEED!!!:

1.Vitamin C:is found in Oranges,lemons,grapefruit,green vegetables and potatoes.

Why you need Vitamin C?
For healthy skin and gums and to heal wounds quickly.

Shortage can cause
Scurvy:Gums and nose bleed.

2.Vitamin D:is found in Milk,butter,eggs,fish and liver.

Why you need Vitamin D?
For strong teeth and bones.

Shortage can cause
Rickets:The bones become soft and they bend.

3.Calcium:is found in Milk and eggs.

Why you need it?
For strong bones and teeth!

Shortage can cause
RICKETS.

4.Iron:is found in Liver and Spinach.

Why do you need it?
For making red blood cells.

Shortage can cause:
Anaemia:The person is pale and has no energy!
