Hello all! Actually, I thought of writing about a vitamin and a mineral in this review. Since I am not sure whether both could be fit here, I am just going to give you some info on Vitamin-E only for the
time being. Later, I may add a mineral.

Well, all of you should take Vitamin - E for Maintaining Your Good Health! Vitamin - E has many health benefits. It is also called the heart vitamin. You can give it a try, considering it’s health benefits.

My mother is a firm believer in taking Vitamin-E everyday. She writes in all her letters and while speaking over the phone too emphasizes that I should take vitamin-E everyday without fail.I follow her advice.I can understand,as if mother says something, it will be for your own good!

I have also read a lot about vitamin -E.It is an antioxidant for reducing heart disease and other illnesses. Vitamin - E also helps in fighting atherosclerosis, which is a kind of hardening of artery that can lead to heart attack and stroke.

Vitamin - E has a variety of healing properties. It may help prevent atherosclerosis, limit damage from cigarette smoking, ward off cataracts, reduce leg cramps, ease arthritic symptoms and delay the ravages of Alzheimer’s.

Dr.Ranjit Chandra, an authority on immunology and nutrition and Professor of medicine at Memorial University in St.John’s, Newfoundland says we don’t get sufficient Vitamin - E from diet alone. He feels the need for a supplement is even greater in people over 55, who don’t eat properly.

Protective levels of Vitamin - E are far higher than what you typically get from foods such as wheat germ, sunflower oil, nuts and seeds.

According to Jeffrey Blumberg , a human- nutrition researcher at Tufts University in Boston, supplementing a healthful diet with vitamin - E may offer many benefits. You could be safer from infectious diseases like colds, flu and tuberculosis.

There has been quite a lot evidence from test tube studies that shows vitamin - E can prevent certain types of cancer.

It has been found that vitamin - E may slow Alzheimer’s. In a nine - year study in the Netherlands, with men and women over 55, about 5,000 people, researchers assessed participant’s intake of dietary and supplemental antioxidants. The study found that those who had a high intake of dietary Vitamin - E reduced their risk of Alzheimer’s disease by about 25 %.

Though hardly a cure, researchers have finally seen something that slows Alzheimer’s disease. A three year Aging study has been set up by National Institute, to test the effects of vitamin E on 720 Canadians and Americans with memory problems. This is to find out the effects of vitamin E in preventing or delaying the onset of Alzheimer’s.

Vitamin - E has other benefits also. A study in Italy showed, that a combination of Vitamin - E and silicon gel significantly decreased wound healing time.It also seems to have reduced scarring.Other studies found that the topical applications of vitamin E and C improve resistance to sunburn. That is why, we see the sunscreens having Vit - E as the major ingredient.

Vitamin - E is also effective in prevention of cataract.Doctors say, that even if you are in perfect health and exercise regularly, you can still benefit from vitamin - E suppliments.

How much should you take? According to doctors here,400 IUs on top of what we get from food should help protect against a number of diseases. Vitamin - C is necessary to maintain vitamin - E’s healing quality. So, you can add 100 mg of vitamin -C to your daily diet along with vitamin - E. Vitamin - E is also referred to as heart vitamin.Considering the benefits of this vitamin- E, I would say there is every reason to give it a try!

I take vitamin - E capsule, one per day after morning breakfast. It has dl-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate. There is no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives and no sugar or starch added in the capsule.I am happy that I am taking this vitamin supplement for the maintenance of good health.
I am sure you are all convinced now regarding the benefits of this wonderful vitamin.

Pros:
Vit-E could keep you safer from infectious diseases !
Cons:
May promote bleeding. Shouldn't be taken prior to surgery
