Story:

Mr. Anand shows his class in this book where he uses the imaginary Indian town Bulashah. This novel had truly cemented his place as one of the prominent English writers in India and correctly so. The story reflects the pathetic kind of practice that we still have in the country relating to casts, creeds and religion. This story was actually inspired by Mr. Anand's aunt's terrible experience when she had eaten food with one Muslim woman. The repercussions she had faced from her own family members for this act shows the sharp claws of the extremely heinous practice. Mr. Anand does his best to reflect his views on complete abolition of the caste system which had spread its roots deep into the Indian culture. Nice lucid flow of the novel makes it heartwarming and easy to read for the Indian reader. A heart touching story.
