In olden times, grinding was done on a heavy grinding stone.The heavy stone was placed in the corner of the kitchen. But this involved lots of efforts and time consuming.When consumers demands increased, due to the fact that in every house the couples had to go out and work, to make both the ends meet, the mixers were introduced.
The mixers were no doubt,fast and quick in grinding.Easy to clean and maintain.But still some of the specialities like idlies and dosas could not be relished because the dough was not as fluffy as you grind in a stone. YES!cleaning, needs a little patience, because you know, you cannot have everything very easily. If you want to have soft and fluffy idlies, then you will have to engage yourself for 10 minutes to clean this gadget also, in order to maintain a certain degree of hygiene
