Little did I know that I would receive a gem of a program when I purchased my first Mustek scanner at Wal Mart in 1999.
The program on the'fish disk' contained a program photo editing program called iPhoto Plus 4. A few years later iPhoto was sold to Apple for use on their machines. The iPhoto that came with the scanner is for a PC. It works on all Windows OS from 95 to Xp.
I can adjust a photo on iPhoto Plus 4 in less than a minute! And I also have used the program to create simple artwork. It's great for producing lead photos for Ebay.
The problem with iPhoto that came with the scanner is that there are no real detailed instructions on how to use it. For example, when placing text on the photo then gong to a different size in cropping will result in text remaining from the old frame and extending out of the new frame. The secret is to place a period at size one anywhere in the photo. This will make the text'stick' and then one can move to resizing or rotating without a problem. The program is learn as you go.
iPhoto Plus 4 is the number one program that I use most of the time. I have found one other program that is very similar and very possibly was developed by the programmers that developed iPhoto plus 4. That program is a legal free download if you know where to look for it.
I'll be keeping my machines even when they get older because iPhoto plus 4 is a mainstay in my library, to lose it would be to lose a precious gem.
