Why oh why does MS come up with excellent products . and then dump them despite their widespread popularity? Like the MS Office'97 Shortcut Bar, perfect for its role, IPP4 too has been underrated by those in charge. I have tried a variety of graphics programs and IPP4 is the only one I have kept using because it is so versatile. Unlike some programs that boast a treasure chest of gimmicky special effects IPP4 allows users to create their own. Over the years I have found ways to make IPP4 do things that I doubt even its creators had anticipated.
IPP4 may be running into difficulties now because it always had one minor limitation . it is 24 bit software and always did gobble up resources which it seemed reluctant to release when finished. But this does not seem insurmountable for program writers and to re-code as 64-bit. All that seems lacking is the will to do so. I sincerely hope that a new version will be brought out to meet this need. Demand for that is indisputable.
