U Ami and AMRA – A Medical Boom  

Thank God! We are now over with the  “Dil Mein Ched” syndrome. With every second movie having

a patient with “Dil Mein Ched” including Ajay Devgan’s and Kajol’s saga Pyar To Hona Hi “Ta” and Shah Rukh’s Kal Ho Na Ho, was causing mere dimaag mein ched . But UMAH is such a refreshing change.  Fortunately we now have Alzheimer’s, “Dylexia”and hoping to see soon Autism  and other diseases with defined Medical terms. The last I have from one of my childhood memories is “Anjanapectoris”  - was it from the hilarious movie Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi (frankly I don’t remember).So who said that Bollywood movies are meaningless and without a message. Go and watch UMAH and it’s such an educational movie on Alzheimer’s. We have a medical hospital in Kolkata AMRA...was the movie an advertising on it – anyway well done advertising. Kyaa Hospital dikhaya hai balki hospital hi hospital dikhaya hai...diwaar...painting....stool...table...better watching then the movie itself.

Besides being educational it also is inspirational in many means. When Tare Zameen Par was released we had stories of children pretending that they could see fishes flying and numbers floating so as to hide their shortcomings. Thanks Ajay Devgan, I can now pretend to forget something when it comes to my Wife. And of course for the unmarried ones we have education on different spheres of Marriage - or let’s say phases of love - Marriage and divorce. So overall its been quite an educational movie for me.

And lets not forget the songs – Most of them are really motivating  – They tell you that if such music and song can enter Bollywood then why can’t yours. You can always do better.

Ya! What about the sick comedy. We all put up our hands in the air and it looked like a laughter club in the Hall but alas inspite of the best efforts and training we could not laugh.

My wife had taken a towel with her for the emotional scenes but unfortunately it got wet only once when my son dropped the cold drink or else the emotional scenes too are dry.

Besides the refreshing medical change the only refreshing thing was Kajol. Since DDLJ days like all college lads I dreamt of an effervescent wife like Kajol. I saw the movie 16 times in the Hall. Well by Gods grace I got one 24x7x365. But inspite of having a 24x7x365 dose I can stand in a long queue to watch Kajol’s. She has always been at her natural best. But still age shows on both Ajay and Kajol and a close-up of the wrinkled hands joining one another was not required to prove the same.

So overall all people interested in learning something should watch this movie other wise its a Jabrdast.......eeee ki movie.
