A once proud airline, USAirways is alienating even its most loyal former customers.

The fees for bags, for a diet coke on board, change fees ($150!!!) are so obnoxious that I now seek any airline (YAY SOUTHWEST!!!) who doesnt do these things.

Case in point: I purchased a non refundable (yes I know what that means) ticket on USAIrways and of course was forced to cancel and reschedule. I paid $307 for a round trip and upon rebooking, my flight went to $257. I was informed I had to pay a $150 (!!!)  change fee. OUCH!!  This is in addition to the change in fare. What was funny I was on their site when I was trying to phone book and they quoted me $327, but I said well, I’m on the site and it’s $257... she quickly corrected. If I didnt catch that it would have been a $70 shift!!

Except in this case, USAIRWAYS owes me $50... But noooo, if there is money left over it is FORFEITED!! This should be against the law. You would think that they would want to give me a $50 credit certificate to use on a future flight (or buy some pillows, blankets, cokes or bag checks)

This is a classic example of an airline who is slowly going out of business.  I wouldnt book more than 3 months out on this pig AND only if there are no other alternatives. As a consumer we simply must do better!!
