I booked a round trip flight from US Airways from New York to Houston, and then Houston back to New York. I checked in 12 hours in advanced and arrived at the check-in counter, only to realize that my
carry on was too big. So I had to miss my outbound flight from NY to Houston. I ended up booking a flight from another airline to make it to Houston in time.
A couple of days before my outbound flight back to New York, I called US Airways to check the status of my flight. To my great shock and dismay, the airline CANCELLED my seat back from Houston to New York. How is that FAIR?!!?!
So US Airways POLICY is that if you miss ANY of your connecting flights, or you miss ONE of your flights on a round trip ticket, then they AUTOMATICALLY cancel ALL of your other flights WITHOUT TELLING YOU. In the end, to reinstate the flights that you paid for and thought were still reserved, you have to pay a 100$ penalty, and the cost in the difference of booking ANOTHER ticket.
I called customer service about this, and was treated rudely by 4 different reps, and my call was escallated 4 levels, and they still wouldnt apologize or at least waive the 100$ "penalty" fee for CANCELLING my reservation from HOU to NY without my permission!
AND to top it off, one of the reps had an attitude, and when I asked to speak with her supervisor, she FLAT OUT SAID "NO." !!!!
US Airways has no clue on how to retain customers. After that horrible experience, I would rather pay the extra money to fly on Continental. NEVER AGAIn in my life will I every fly US Airways again!
