My advice: avoid this carrier at all costs.
Here is my current story:
I left Manchester NH this morning, bound for Ft Myers FL. The connection was through Washington National.. I arrived in Ft Myers, but my luggage did not. Well, I go to the baggage agent and provide the necessary info; she said the bag was in Philadelphia - not even on the route, so obviously some bone-head didnt even load the bag on the plane in MHT. I arrive int Ft Myers at about 4:40 and my bag *MIGHT* arrive at 11:30. If it comes in before midnite, they will deliver it to me at my hotel. At this point, I am actually not too upset.
OK; I go on to my hotel. Later I call the 800 number for US Air baggage and get the usual menu crap, but finally get to the point of supposedly waiting for a real human being to talk with. I wait and wait and wait as the phone has nothing but dead air, no sucky muzak, no reassurance that a representative would be on the phone soon; nothing. I wait and wait -- probably for 10 minutes or more. Of course, part of the recorded message before I got to the dead air was to go to the us air website and check on the bags status. I did this and got essentially zero additional information.
Finally I asked the Marriot desk clerk (Who was excellent, by teh way!) to help me out and she got on the phone and by sheer persistence finally got thru to a human. The US Air human said that the bag was on a plain due to land in Ft Myers at about 11:40 PM. However, they said that the bag would be delivered sometime between Midnight and 6:00 AM. What CRAP! They could not say when it would arrive because they hand the bag off to some local delivery company! I wound up driving back to the Ft Myers airport in time to claim my bag - knowing that it was coming in from Philadelphia.
My complaints:
1. IT IS OBVIOUS FROM MY EXPERIENCE THAT US AIR DOESNT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT A PASSENGER GETTING HIS LOST BAG BACK IN A TIMELY FASHION, EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THE BAG IS.
2. THE BAG HAD A CLAIM NUMBER ON IT AND THEY KNEW AS SOON AS I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION THAT THE BAG WOULD NOT BE THERE. WHY DID THEY NOT TRY TO INFORM ME OF THAT INSTEAD OF HAVING ME WAIT FOR ALL THE OTHER BAGS TO COME DOWN THE BELT AND THEN GO DEAL WITH THE BAG AGENT? WHY? BECAUSE THEY DONT GIVE A DAMN!
I hope (but believe otherwise) that no US Taxpayer dollars were pumped into this useless incompetent corporation to bail them out after "9/11".
