Pros:
These songs are chosen for outstanding lyrics and music....
Cons:
I know some of these songs may seem weird... but it's my choice!

Hi!
I just opened my new account at Mouthshut.com like thirty seconds ago. So, this is my first post.

This is a list of my favorite songs....

1. Chalte Chalte (Pakeeza)
This
song has no comparison in lyrics nor in voice quality. The music and the actress are also perfect.

2. Maahi Ve (Kaante)
The pain in the lady’s voice... The lyrics... I don’t know the exact setting of the song in the movie but I can tell that the lady is a stripper or something. It beautifully shows the frustration and helplessness os a woman.

3. E Ajnabi (Dil Se)
There is one thing that’s certain about this movie. It truly is a story straight from the heart. I first heard this song while standing in a room in Delhi, shivering in the cold morning in mid-winter. Slowly, sweetly, I hear Udit Narayan’s voice speaking out to me from the radio and I feel as if someone I knew was there, calling for me.

4. Jahin Door Jab Din dhal jaye (Anand)
I completely agree with the actor in this movie. Sorrow can be really beautiful sometimes.

5. E Mere Pyaare Watan (Kabuliwalla)
When I hear this song, I long for the streets of Delhi and my village more than ever. I hear these words of love of your home and longing and share it.

6. Duniya Banane Wale ( I don’t know the movie’s name, but the song is sung by Mukesh)
This is the sweetest way to critisize gods creations and this world.

7. Satrangi Re (Dil Se)
You can feel the passion, the madness, the worship of love in this song. It shows each shade of love in this song. I love the video of this song as well. Shah rukh Khan is simply going crazy with love...

8. Yeh Duniya Agar Mil bhi Jaye (Pyaasa)
No wonder Nehru was so upset when he heard this song. This disillusioned poet looks around himself and griefs at the sight of the young girls of the nation. He rejects this world of materialism and in despair to see love becomeing a mere trade done only for profit.

9. Rang de Basanti (rang de Basanti)
This song is great! I love the beat. NOt only does it bring out the soul of our nation, it has this great beat that makes me want to drop everything and dance.

10. Nagri Nagri (Mother India)
This is one of my most favorite movies ever. The songs depicts this helpless mother left alone with nothing but three young kids and an elderly lady to take care of. She is bewildered and searches for her husband and loses all hope.

Honorable Mentions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Kisi Patthar ki Murat se (old Hamraz)

- Jhalak Dikhlaja!
(Aksar)

-Right Here, Right Now (Bluffmaster)

-Dus Bahane (Dus)

-Tadap Tadap ke (Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam)

- Oopar Khuda (Kacche Dhaage)
