With due respect to the generation of the golden greats of Madan Mohan, OP Nayaar, SD Burman, RD Burman, Lata, Rafi and Kishore whose music and vocals have been and will be be my friends at moments of peace, happiness, frustation and sadness, I take an attempt here to give a compiled list of the new age singers. Some of them are inspired by these greats and others have created a genre of their own.  The order is not necessarily to my most liking:

        Superb rendition by Hariharan.

12. Doorie (Atif Aslaam)

       This guy is good with techno trance music.

13. Chalka Chalka (sang by various artistes; Gulzar/AR Rahman composition)

    Chhalka re kalse ka paani. Chhalka chhalka re..aankh na maani!  - it betrays emotions.

14. Bhaage re (Sunidhi - Chameli)

   Sunidhi took the song to a different level -much different from her usual stuff.

15. Alvida (James)

    there is something from this Sylethi Rock singer - you keep tuned to it
