I am ardent fan of Mohd. Rafi since my childhood. None of my day finishes without listening to this voice. Great depth, soul, variety and control are the characterstics of Rafi Sahab.
Following are my favoriite twenty songs which does not include greats from Baiju Bawra, Barsat ki Raat, Chaudhvin Ka Chand and many other classical movies as they are and will remain the treasure to the indian film industry. My list includes peppy, sad, romantic and soulful songs which Rafi Sahab sang in his thirty years illustrious carrer. I have delibrately avoided duets and choruses in my list.
1- O' Door ke Musafir. Udan Khatola, Music Naushad. Lyrics Shakeel. Beautifully sung.
2-Ehsan Tera Hoga Mujh Per. Junglee Music Shanker Jaikishen Lyrics Hasrat . Rafi Sahab delivers the word Mohabbat differently each time in the song. Amazingly done.
3-Baharoon Phool Barsao. Suraj Music Shanker Jaikishen Lyrics Hasrat . Perhaps most famous song in the entire Indian Film History.
4-Dil Jo Na Keh Saka. Bheegi Raat. Music Roshan Lyrics Majrooh. I am never tired of listening to this song.
5-Aaj Kal Mein Dhal Gaya. Beti Bete Music Shanker Jaikishen Lyrics Hasrat. Ilove this song. Dont think any other singer can even attempt to sing this song.
6-Jane Kya Dhondtee Rehti Hain. Shola aur Shabnam. Music Khayyam Lyrics Kaifi Azmi.Rafi Sahab demonstrate that he was master in singing low to high pitch and vice versa.
7-Kar Chale Hum Fida. Haqeeqat. Music Madan Mohan Lyrics Kaifi Azmi. Most popular and liked patriotic song.
8-Chahoonga Mein Tujhe. Dosti Music Laxmikant Pyare Lal Lyrics Majrooh. LP got their first Filmfare award because of this beautiful song.
Hoon Mein Humsafar Dhoondta Hoon. Music Laxmikant Pyare lal Lyrics Anand Bakshi.
Surprisingly underrated song but vow what a song. Beautifully sung.
10-Mujhe Dekh Kar Apka Muskrana.Ek Musafir Ek Hasina Music O.P.Nayyar Lyrics S.H. Bihari
Another gem. Only Rafi Saheb can do justice to this song.

Beautifully sung. Very emotional song.
