Versatility was never a problem, in those days when music reigned supreme.Is it any wonder then, that the songs of yesteryears, still find a place on everyones lips. The songs then were classics, cause they were penned, composed and sung from the heart, and aimed straight at the hearts of the listeners. Well friends, here I am once again to ramble on about one of my favorite things music. This time I am here to introduce you to another versatile, yet humble genius, who has sung some really memorable songs. This man who rates Mohammed Rafi as the best, doesn't speak much about himself.But then his voice and the songs he has sung.they tell their own story.
Here's what I rate as his best .melancholy, fun, the mix
1) Zindagi Kaisi hai paheli - Anand jinhone sajaae yahaaN mele sukh-dukh sang-sang jhele vahii chunakar Kaamoshii( His sudden change of pitch here is just classy) yuuN chalii jaae akele kahaaN
2) ai merii zohra jabii-Waqt. This song has been rendered with elan by this maestro. Branded once as a classical singer, he certainly did a grand job here. The chedoo andaaz has done the trick.
3) Ae maalik tere bande hum - Do aankhen baarah haath This is an amazing prayer, which was really sung with the heart in the right place. Lets take some fun songs which he sang, and with gusto. Amazing person this
4) Chalat Musafir-Teesri Kasam. This song with its folkish beat was rendered just coolly.
5) baabu samjho ishare - Chalti ka naam gaadi.
6) Chunari Sambhal gori -Baharon ke sapne. His versatility in singing any type of song is to be heard to be beleived.
7) Dil ka haal sune dilwala - Shri 420. Just how good a performer he is, can be seen from the fact, the RK had him sing this, inspite of promoting Mukesh as his voice.
8) Ek Chatur naar -Padosan. Who could forget this lively zingy fun song from the equally fun film. As Mehmood's voice, this man has done absolutely well here. Here on I am just mentioning the song names. There is no reason for explanations. These are what I feel are his best.

10) Kasme vaade pyaar wafa - upkar .awesome
11) laaga chunari me daag - dil hi to hai - awesome 2

13) poocho na kaise - meri surat teri aankhen.sigh
14) dil ki girah - Chayaa.ecstacy
15) ae mere pyaare watan - kabuliwallah.what a song this.
16) nadiya chale chale re dhara - safar
