I started going to TC some time in 2003 when it was still trying to establish a clientele and identity. I was single and arrogant enough not to find a creature from mars to help me get in there. I got

in a couple of times with some friends who knew the management but whenever I tried to get in alone I was rudely pushed away. Led by my love of classic rock music and beer, I persisted, made my network, helped the management in getting things organized in their personal life. After a while TC was like a family. The DJ, the bouncer, the bar tenders even the janitor knew my by name. In a span of two years, I spend some where close to 1.5 Lakh rupees in T.C and don’t regret a single penny of that money. Times in T.C are tattooed in my memory. I have since then moved to US, have tried really hard to find a pub which could be a substitute, but have failed miserably. There is some thing about T.C. When you walk down those stairs, when you start smelling the smoke, when you hear Janis’s voice, when you start feeling the heat, it’s just starting.
We have had times when at around 3.00 AM, the electricity went out and every one who was still standing sang Sare Jahan Se Acha. We have had times when would wait all night for RATM and then when it was finally played, we would just take over the dancing area, all the couples who were dancing on mushy crappy crap simply move away and we show every one why TC is TC. I brought a lot of music for Sonu(DJ). Made so many friends. ...So many memories.
But I also feel that in lately TC was compromising a bit of its originality, by having not necessarily hip-hip but definitely "not rock" music. I guess this was done to attract more "normal" junta and it was damn successful. In fact by the end of 2005, I used to go on a Thursday as it was this day when the old timers would come out, barely legal girls would not walking all drunk. The owner - Mr. Soral would come out with his wife. Indian Rock Band members, hard core rockers and the best music was played.
I have been in US for more than a year now and can’t wait to get back to TC and have a chilled King fisher.

Hope the magic is still there.....but the Rs 500 on Saturday nights is weird!!!! not a good thing

Long live TC.
