''So close no matter how far'', this is what can be said for this place especially for mumbaites looking for an escape from their busy life. Inspite of being located very near to mumbai, this place still holds its peace and greenery and thus can be a good get away from your busy life. If you are a religious or a spiritual person living in Mumbai and looking for peace, then this is the place to be. Also, if you want to enjoy waterfalls and good tropical weather during monsoons, you can't miss this place. I am bound to be a lover of this place as I am religious as well as nature lover. This place is famous for the waterfalls during monson and lord Shiva's temple. If you are lucky, then you might land upon a large variety of wild life, varying from langoors, peacock, red face monkeys (they can be naughty), and loads of others. Although, I would not recommend you to travel there during night, as this place is also a home to wild panthers and wolves. But, travelling during day time is pretty safe. I have been visiting this place for the past 16 years now and the number of people visiting this place is ever increasing.
Vasai is the nearest Mumbai suburb. You can get a rickshaw from Vasai station or drive to this place on Mumbai-Ahemdabad highway. Food is one of the biggest worries. I recommend you to carry your picnic basket. You can be caught short of breath as trekking to good waterfalls can be a bit difficult especially for people with considerable fats. Also, during monsoon do take care while climbing as you can easily put your foot on a scorpion or one of many small harmless crabs. To sum up, this can be a good one day get away destination.
