Someone used to tell me that Bangalore is the place to be for Pubs and It always made me wonder why..I had only been to a few pubs here and well I was not too happy with the kind of aura that the pubs in bombay had.
My visit to Banglore was an eye opener as far as the world of Pubs is concerned... man banglore sure knows how to Rock....
Well not many pubs in mumbai are that good.....first of all pubs need to keep away from the disco type of music and the environent in such places is not for the dancing dovies. A pub is typically a place where people like us go and chill out after a tiring days effort at office and hang arouund for sometime to listen to some good music. Music that suits a pub is not the POP types but Rock or Metal.Well thats where I feel most pubs have lost it...!!!!I said not all.......there are some places for the Rock lovers still in bombay which can give some solace to the average Rock enthusiast.One of them being Toto’s Garage.the first time I had been to this place was in 1999 when I was in college.I still remember that when I just stepped into this place for the first time they were playing ’’Temple of the King’’.The night went on and the music was just amazing ..more of Rock and Metal...I dont remember them playing even one pop number..not a single dance number....Then I recommended this place to several friends and all of them have liked it. Its a typical pub where people come for music and beer. Being slightly small in size it always looks crowded and thats what makes me feel like I am in a Pub..they serve only snacks ..no dinner boss.....but I think that Music and drinks will fill u more than u can take.
The place is made up like a garage and its a small dingy lookin den if one would see from outside...But then best things come in small packages ok!!!!
These guys also play requests but not on weekends....but I am sure that no one ever complained to me about their music...
go guys if u are the Pub crawling types and new to bombay ....dont miss on this one!!!
PS and if u really like some good Metal and wanna headbang then do visit Razz on Thrusdays its good too!!!
